Write Your Own Story – stone age

Crack! Creak! Thud! What’s that? It’s the sound of the creaking ice. Something BIG is coming your way. It’s time to write your stone age story.
TIP: We know that people could speak in the Stone Age and the Ice Age but of course nobody knows their names. You can make up a ‘Stone Age name’ by ‘smashing’ your own name into syllables and doubling them up. So Sarah becomes Sa-Sa or Rah-Rah. Jacob becomes Ja-Ja or Cob-Cob.

⊕ Go through the steps below to create your story...

Print this out:

1. Choose names for your characters...

  • Write the hero's name here...
  • Write the name of the 'baddy' here

2. Choose two places for your story to happen...

  • the frozen lake
  • the deer track
  • the cliff
  • your cave
  • sabre tooth tiger's den
  • Choose your own idea

3. Choose two objects to come into the story...

  • stone axe
  • fire
  • chief’s necklace
  • deer
  • woolly rhino
  • sabre toothed tiger
  • mammoth
  • Choose your own idea

4. Write the story from the most exciting part (if you are working with a partner, write one line each)
